Harley Fatbob with 2 x GoPro HD cameras

This is my latest video with the GoPro HD cameras, I have one fixed on the triple trees and the second on a Manfotto grip fix tripod head, the last allows quick access to the mount and I can pretty much point it an any direction let go and its locked solid. Its a bit big but seems to do the job quite well, I made a mistake and shot in Mode 4 960p 30fps instead of Mode 3 720p 60fps but its been cropped. I am very happy with the results, the whole video was shot on the go with me changing the second cameras angles whilst riding. The audio was recorded on a Zoom H2 pocket digital recorder stuffed under the passengers handle on the seat. With a bit of trial and error I should find the best location for the second mount and be able to get quite a few angles on the fly giving the illusion of a multi camera shot.

Olympus Behind the Lens: Dean Semler

For most people, "Secretariat" is a compelling, feel-good story that charms, whether you are a horse-lover or not. Secretariat won the US Triple Crown in 1973, the first racehorse to do so in 25 years. The recently released motion picture based on actual events puts you right into the action and even more exciting, showcases how advanced Olympus technology played an important role in making this film. The compact size and HD quality of the Olympus PEN camera offered the ability to capture a horse race from vantage points that had never been done before. Olympus PEN cameras were mounted on the ground at the starting gate, as well as on the jockey's helmet and glove, the horse's saddle, a pole right next to the horse's feet and in dirt around the track, capturing moments of authenticity and extreme close-ups of the intense racing action, and shots illustrating speed and dirt, excitement and chaos. Not one PEN broke during the filming; further proof that Olympus products allow you to "capture it all." Check out this Olympus "Behind the Lens" video, bit.ly featuring the film's Academy Award-winning Director of Photography, Dean Semler, to learn more about how the PEN was used in this remarkable film. You can also view some of the ground-breaking horse-race footage captured with the Olympus PEN E-P1 in the official Secretariat trailer. screencrave.com

Taking a Look at the Nintendo Game Boy Camera

Nintendo released the Game Boy Camera and the Game Boy Printer in 1998. The Camera took small, grainy digital photos in an era before the proliferation of digital cameras and camera phones. Although the photos were limited to the Game Boy's 4 shades of gray, the Camera's software allowed users to customize them with doodles, stamps, frames, and even make animations and use their own faces in minigames. The photos could also be printed out onto stickers using the thermal Printer and a Game Link cable (the Printer was sold separately from the Camera, but included paper and a Game Link). A few other games were also compatible with the Printer, most notably The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. A followup to the Camera was planned for the Game Boy Advance, but never released. Nintendo utilized some aspects of the Camera software for the Nintendo DSi, and although the DSi's camera app features new options, it is not nearly as robust as the original Game Boy Camera. This set is outmoded these days, and not very useful on a functional level, but I still find them to be fun and kitschy, and because they are inexpensive and easy to come by on eBay, I have to wholeheartedly recommend them to collectors and retro gamers.
