I haven't been disappointed. I've taken thousands of photos and have been happy with the way it performs. The battery lasts an amazing amount of time, approximately 325 shots, longer than any similar camera I've owned in the past. It features a 3x, 7.9-23.7mm lens, equivalent to a 38-114mm lens on a 35mm camera. Maximum aperture ranges from f/2.8 to f/5.1, depending on the zoom position, and remains under automatic control. You can customize key operations to assign recording mode, exposure compensation, white balance, ISO sensitivity or self-timer functions to the left/right controller buttons. It's easy to change these settings by simply pressing the left or right control button. Most of the time I have it on "Auto" for point and shoot convenience at parties and such, but when I want that special picture and I have the time to adjust the settings it's nice to have that option.

This camera creates superior images in lighting conditions that are challenging for other cameras. You can select aperture priority, shutter priority, or just select one of the unique "Best Shot" modes to enhance your images.
